Goth Karaoke (2014)
Irish Museum of Modern Art and Meeting House Square, Dublin

Two site-specific karaoke events produced for the 2014 Bram Stoker Festival in Dublin, where members of the public were invited to perform versions of ‘gothic’ songs from the 1970s up to the present day, by artists such as Nick Cave, Bauhaus, Joy Divison and The Horrors. The events attracted a mix of participants and audience members – from local goths to passing tourists – and allowed the public to engage on a very practical level with contemporary takes on ‘the gothic’ explored throughout the festival.
